ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Partial tuition and/or books scholarship with preference given to residents of Jackson or Calhoun counties that are majoring in one of the following areas: Agriculture, Biology, Conservation, Environmental Science, Forestry, Science Education or Wildlife. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 high school gpa and maintain a minimum 3.0 college gpa each semester enrolled, and follow standard college requirements. The scholarship recipient will be required to collect, test and record results from 3 to 5 sets of water samples from the Chipola River bi-weekly and conduct the lab tests in the Chipola College lab. The recipient will be responsible for sending the water sample results to the Apalachicola Riverkeeper Association organization and the recipient will coordinate with an assigned Chipola faculty supervisor and must be able to work independently. Some travel may be required. The recipient must properly test and report test results as required in order to receive scholarship funding for the second semester.
