FIRST GENERATION IN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Partial tuition and/or books scholarship to first generation in college students who are Florida residents. To qualify, applicants must come from a family where neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree or if the applicant regularly resides with only one parent who provides the majority of support, that one parent must not have completed a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must enroll as an undergraduate, degree-seeking student for a minimum of six hours per term at Chipola College and must meet the eligibility requirements in section 1009.50, Florida Statutes, for demonstrated financial need for the Florida Public Student Assistance Grant, by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants must be a high school graduate with a 2.0 or better grade point average at graduation or earned a GED to qualify for this scholarship. Applicants who have previously been enrolled in college must also have both a cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.0 or better. First priority of funding shall be given to students who demonstrate need by qualifying and receiving federal Pell Grant funds up to the full cost of tuition and fees per term.
